The Victorian Government has closed the Premium Feed-in Tariff scheme to new applicants. This will
be replaced by a new Transitional Feed-in Tariff scheme (TFiT), available from 1
January 2012. The new TFIT scheme will offer qualifying customers 25 cents per kilowatt
hour for electricity fed back into the grid from their rooftop solar systems. Please
see details of our Victorian Transitional Solar Energy Plan below.
If you’re already receiving credits under the Premium Feed-in Tariff scheme, you’ll
continue to do so in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions you have
previously entered into until 2024. The Premium Feed-in Tariff is only closed to
new applicants.

The Queensland Government offers Queensland households with a solar photovoltaic
(PV) system, who feed their excess electricity back into the Queensland grid, an
agreed Solar Bonus rate of 44 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh). Australian
Power & Gas customers in Queensland can take advantage of this offer by signing
up to the Queensland Solar Bonus Scheme.
This plan offers to pay you for the electricity you feed back into the Queensland
grid, over and above what you use at home. Whenever your home electricity demands
are less than what your solar panel is producing, you will be feeding electricity
into the grid. This is called ‘net’ metering. Any electricity generated by your
solar panel and used in your home will be free of charge. For more information,
you can visit the website of the Office of Clean Energy.
