RENEWABLE ENERGY BUY BACK PLANS

Australian Power & Gas offers Renewable Energy Buy Back plans to Victorian and Queensland customers.

Queensland customers, do you generate your own electricity at home from solar panels? If you do, or are thinking about doing it in the future, you may find that you have excess electricity you won’t utilise in your own home. Australian Power & Gas can assist you to feed this excess electricity back into the Queensland electricity network, by signing up to our new Queensland Solar Bonus Scheme. This new plan offers to pay you for the electricity you feed back into the electricity network from your solar Photovoltaic (PV) system, at an agreed rate. This Solar Bonus rate is 44 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) and will be paid to you for any electricity fed into the grid, over and above what you use at home. Whenever your home electricity demands are less than what your solar panel is producing, you will be feeding electricity into the grid. This is called ‘net’ metering. Any electricity generated by the solar panel and used in the home will be free of charge.

Victorian customers, do you generate your own electricity at home the sun, wind or another renewable source? If you do, or are thinking about doing it in the future, you may find that you have excess electricity you won’t utilise in your own home. Australian Power & Gas can assist you to feed this excess electricity back into the Victorian electricity network, by signing up to our new Standard Renewable Energy Buy Back Plan. This new plan offers to pay you for the electricity you feed back into the electricity network, at the same great rates as you pay to purchase electricity under your current Australian Power & Gas plan. The Victorian Government refers to this plan as the 'Standard Feed-in Tariff'. To apply for this plan, download the application form and Terms & Conditions here.

Alternatively, Victorian customers who have solar panels which power up to 2kW may wish to wait until 2009, when the Victorian Government is due to launch their 'Premium Feed-in Tariff'. Once approved by the Government, Australian Power & Gas will offer the Premium Tariff Solar Energy Buy Back Plan.
